[1] This board is for all Muslims who follow Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. Sunni, Shi'a, Ibadi, and all affiliated masjids are welcome to discuss and debate.

[2] This board is absolutely SFW. Use of spoilers does not excuse pornography. Links to inappropriate imagery/videos must be accompanied by a caveat and should be in context of the topic, not merely gratuitous.

[3] Do not post images of the Prophets of Allah. Those images will be deleted.

[4] Outsiders are welcome, but must be respectful. Treat this board as you would a mosque in the real world.

[5] Christian debate/discussion is welcome, but must be kept to a single general. Other threads will be locked or deleted.

[6] Declaring takfir on anyone will be considered LARPing and be deleted. Repeated offences could be met with a ban.

[7] Keep /pol/ on /pol/. Racist caricatures/images are not allowed.

[8] Calls to raid other boards or other websites will not be tolerated.

[9] The Q cult is a disease that must be eradicated. Q posts will not be tolerated.

[10] Do not bump-post. If you have nothing to add to the conversation, don't bother. Posts that just say "bump" will be deleted, dropping the thread right back down to where it was.

Your ethnic nationalism/supremacy has no place here and racism will not be tolerated.

"And among His wonders is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your tongues and colors. For in this, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are possessed of innate knowledge!" [30:22]

If 8kun goes down, you can use TOR to continue access or you can use our alternate /islam/ at 9chan.tw. It's up to you.

This is a catch-all thread for those questions that don't merit a lot of discussion and can be answered with a simple answer or reference. It is not meant to be a blog or general discussion thread. If discussion of a particular question lasts more than 4-5 posts, then the question does - in fact - deserve its own thread.

Example: "Where can I learn Arabic?" or "Do I have to change my name if I convert?"

Answers should be backed up with citation from Qur'an and Hadith. Petty arguments will be deleted.

This board is the 8chan Masjid and should be treated as such. It is a place for Muslims to gather and discuss Islam and not intended as a place where Muslims must defend themselves or their religion from outsiders. If you would not do it in a real mosque in the real world, then don't do it here.

Controversial topics of discussion are permitted, but deliberate trolling/baiting and personal attacks will not be tolerated. /pol/-like behavior can stay on /pol/.

ATTACK THE ARGUMENT, NOT THE POSTER

For the purposes of this board, and until otherwise proven absolutely haram, tasteful non-lewd images of people, nature, and animals will be allowed.

We are not for the comparison of the various world's religions. There are many, many other boards for that. Use them.

We need to take steps to ensure our privacy. Do not let them pull the "if you've got nothing to hide" card; that's like saying we don't need freedom of speech because "I have nothing to say." I have nothing to hide. I am not a terrorist nor am I interested in helping terrorists, but my emails and such are mine and I refuse to lay down and let the government walk all over my freedoms. IslamQA is a reputable Islamic source according to many. When it came to the transgender issue, I always thought transitioning was not allowed no matter what, especially since I hear people make fun of Iran and shias for allowing sex change, but I came across this on their site, essentially that if you feel like a woman and a specialist also approves, then you can go ahead with the surgery:

>Thirdly: if your masculinity is not established, and you only think that you are a man because of what you see in your body of outward masculine appearance, in contrast to what you feel in yourself of having feminine characteristics and an inclination towards males and being sexually attracted to them, then you should examine your situation and not go ahead with the surgery that you have mentioned. You should consult experienced specialist doctors. If they determine that you are male in outward appearance but are in fact female, then you may submit yourself to their treatment, so that they can bring out your femininity by doing surgery. But that will not in fact be a sex change from male to female, because this will not be up to them; rather it will be bringing out your true nature and removing what is in your body, and what you feel deep inside you of confusion and ambiguity. But if nothing is clear to the experts, then do not take the risk of undergoing this surgery; be content with the decree of Allah and be patient with what has befallen you, seeking to please your Lord and protecting yourself against the possible consequences of doing an operation without guidance and insight concerning your condition. Turn to Allah and beseech Him to relieve you of what you are facing, and to heal you from your psychological problems, for control of all things is in His hand, may He be glorified, and He is able to do all things. End quote.

What did they mean by this, and so whats the orthodox ruling on this?

There´s unfortunately a very common misconsception about RasulAllah´s marriage to Aisha that even many Muslims believe nowadays and that the kuffar constantly quote against us: "Aisha married the Prophet when she was 6 yo and consummated the marriage at 9". I will in sha Allah explain how this is false through various points.

1. Paedophilia in an Islamic State is one of the 10 crimes punishable by death.

2. The man that narrated the hadith was a senile old man with dementia, so he made a mistake when he narrated because he forgot.

3. According to the Quran, only two consenting adults can consent to a marriage, and that is why prepubescent planned marriages are wrong since the girl in the future might dislike the marriage.

4. According to Islamic history, it is impossible for Aisha to have been at that age, at that time. I quote from an article:

"Hazrat Aisha can be easily calculated from the age of her elder sister Hazrat Asma who was 10 years older than Hazrat Aisha. Waliuddin Muhammad Abdullah Al-Khateeb al Amri Tabrizi the famous author of Mishkath, in his biography of narrators (Asma ur Rijal), writes that Hazrat Asma died in the year 73 Hijri at the age of 100, ten or twelve days after the martyrdom of her son Abdullah Ibn Zubair. It is common knowledge that the Islamic calendar starts from the year of the Hijrah or the Prophet’s migration from Mecca to Medina.

Therefore, by deducting 73, the year of Hazrat Asma’s death, from 100, her age at that time, we can easily conclude that she was 27 years old during Hijra.

This puts the age of Hazrat Aisha at 17 during the same period. As all biographers of the Prophet agree that he consummated his marriage with Hazrat Aisha in the year 2 Hijri it can be conclusively said that she was 19 at that time and not nine as alleged in the aforementioned hadiths."

No, you can't. There are literally zero countries in the world that have an age of consent as low as 9. The absolute lowest age of consent is Nigeria and that's currently 12 with (WITH) parental permission. Nearly all Muslim countries have the age of marriage at 15 or 16. This is undeniable, indisputable fact.

I'm especially curious as to why the golden age ended.

Salam brothers

I have been thinking about marital relations.

I noticed that in most animal species males behave the same: The find a female in heat, impregnate her and leave her so she would take care of their children alone.

Human males also instinctively want to follow this "hit-it and quit-it" behavior.

My question is this: is the main reason of marriage is to ensure that a man will stay with a woman and help her to raise children since human kids are much harder to raise compared to other infant animals?

There are different types of mating behavior.. not all behave as you suggest.. there are many animals that have adapted to form relationships and "imprint" on eachother as the offspring within their biological model fare better when both parents stay in the nest..

Animals don't suffer from sin though.

Man is the apex of nature.. and possesses deep reflection.. with greater power comes greater responsibility, and therefore greater sin.

> is the main reason of marriage is to ensure that a man will stay with a woman and help her to raise children since human kids are much harder to raise compared to other infant animals?

That could be one of the reasons, but restricting intimacy to marriage is not for sure going to turn all those guys with 'hit it and quit it' behaviour into loyal husbands. Marriage in Islam keeps women from ending up in that predicament, puts barriers of entry, only someone who cares for the woman and is sincere is going to go through the trouble to marry her.

Mainly the reason for marriage is because we're not animals, we are civilized who make civilizations, and the family unit is the basic building block for such societies. A family is best for all parties, even if we just talk sexually, within the structures of marriage you will have more sex, thats why if you look at stats today in the west they say younger generations are having less sex today, because less are getting married especially at young ages compared to the past, people have to put in much more work to get sex if they're single. Theres ultimately many reasons we can point to for why else marriage is beneficial.

Do you mean liberalism or do you mean capitalism. I am not in America, but there seems to be a confusion as to what liberal means as a word depending on the geography you reside in. Within America, liberal is aligned with what they view as leftism. In Europe, liberal is aligned with what would generally be considered capitalist and market oriented.

If by liberal you mean capitalist, then I would agree with your point of view. Capitalism is what is destroying the planet and making lives miserable.

Not sure that this is the case. I find that North American "liberals" are more tolerant of islam and muslim countries in general. For example, most North American liberals tend to have a more forceful support of Palestine, and within the US and Canada muslims are in the party ranks. For example, ilhan omar is a member of a mainstream party, and in Canada there are several high profile members of government in actual power and its in a liberal party. Trump does not need an explanation on his politics, and I think we all know what that is. Not sure I follow what you are saying, because when it comes to most governmental matters the liberals have been more open minded toward islam and muslims on matters of immigration, ability to practice religion, etc.

I agree OP They made a pyramid in the middle of Anatolia and 100,000s of idols, in 20th century! Turkey is by far the country with the most graven images in the world.

If all the muslims are to go back to muslim countries, how will the non-muslims get guidance?

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said ''I disown every Muslim who settles among the mushrikeen.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2645; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood

It still is mustahabb to make Hijrah. That is, would be, in this case, because 'ibadah is not uniquely salah, zakah, and similar acts of worship that are considered "legal" under their law.

If you'd choose to stay in the land of degeneracy, idolatry and disbelief, the land whose governments are responsible for countless crimes against the Ummah, rather than move to a land where the Shariah is enforced and the rule of Islam is established, where good is enjoyed and evil is forbidden, (which currently does not exist, so it's understandable to not focus on it, for now…) then may Allah guide you, because you have long deviated from the path of Islam. Ameen
